Formal Letter of complaint to the Australian Education Department

Mel Day

The following is a letter sent to the Australian Minister of Education about the corruption and indoctrination of trans material with Australian School curriculum attached is their reply. If we keep doing this, emailing, complaining, making noise, they can not ignore us forever!

Dear Hon. Jason Clare MP, Minister of Education,

I am writing to formally raise a complaint about corruption within the Australian Education Union (AEU) and the Australian Education Department.

In the latest issue of the AEU's magazine, 7 of its 40 pages are dedicated to trans inclusion in schools. In this edition, the magazine indicates that the AEU is supporting trans justice and advocating for trans staff and students through various research initiatives. It states, "The AEU has pledged to stand with transgender and gender-diverse members and students in the face of increasing anti-trans lobbying and disinformation." Furthermore, the AEU will participate in a "global meeting of leading anti-trans disinformation researchers to share learnings and discuss ways to arrest the spread of disinformation, particularly about gender-affirming medical care." The AEU asserts, “The Australian health system has been designed with a pervasive culture that privileges straight cisgender people” (Christine Long, AEU, Autumn Edition 2024). These "pledges" directly contravene the Cass Review (2024) whose findings on the physical, psychological and emotional dangers of the "affirmation model" are irrefutable and have been the catalyst for the collapse of some gender clinics in both the UK and America along with the cessation of hormone blockers being given to minors within some parts of these countries.

How is it that the AEU is not just ignoring these findings but is instead using union money to work with "leading anti-trans disinformation researchers" in an attempt to debunk the extensive research of Hillary Cass? Using union funds for such purposes has not been ratified or even voted on by school staff, making it an illegal and inappropriate use of teacher union fees, this calls for an investigation into corruption. Moreover, the trans rights guidelines, found in the 'We All Belong' policy, used within the Australian Education Department, stipulates that teachers must affirm students' gender identities and allow students to change their names without parental knowledge. Such a policy is a direct violation of the following Public Service Code of Conduct guidelines; which all Australian government departments are mandated to uphold:

Commitment to the highest ethical standards.Providing objective, independent, apolitical, and impartial advice.Showing respect towards all individuals.Prioritizing public interest and managing conflicts of interest.Engaging with the community in an honest, fair, and respectful manner.

As a breast cancer survivor, I have undergone treatment similar to that which young girls on a trans pathway receive. I am a very unwell person due to the hormone and surgical treatments I have undergone, yet I had no choice. I am numb from my neck to my navel due to a double mastectomy to remove my cancer. I have experienced severe consequences from hormone blockers, as my cancer was estrogen-fed and I was placed on the same cocktail of hormone blockers that trans identifying girls receive. I am now infertile and have experienced early onset menopause and, within four years, developed stage four osteoporosis. I suffer from ongoing pain, pelvic floor issues, significant breathing difficulties, and heart pain. From conversations with individuals who have transitioned and later regretted it, we share the same ailments, yet unlike mine, their pain could have been avoided if schools and the community had taken a 'Watchful Waiting' approach as opposed to following the 'affirmation model'.

With all the evidence that has come from the Cass review and the WPATH files along with harrowings stories of detransitioners, why are Australian schools still pushing the 'affirmation model'? There is no scientific basis for teachers to be placed in the difficult and compromising position of affirming students' chosen genders. I am convinced that the current 'affirmation model' in schools will not address students' body dysmorphia but will instead make them physically and mentally unwell.

Upon researching the organizations cited by the AEU in the above mentioned magazine, I have discovered that Trans Hub is an ACON initiative. ACON’s own website states, "This website is not a substitute for independent professional advice: Nothing contained in this site is intended to be used as medical advice and it is not intended to be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any sexually transmitted infection (STI), HIV or hepatitis A, B or C or mental health conditions, nor should it be used for therapeutic purposes or as a substitute for your own health professional’s advice. ACON does not accept any liability for any illness, loss, or damage incurred by use of or reliance on the information contained in this website." In other words, they have no solid backing to support their statements on whether transition and affirmation are science-based and appropriate for students in schools.

I understand that schools have been supplied with the 'diversity and inclusion' policy such as 'We all Belong' and are Gold Tier supporters of the Australian Workers Equity Index (AWEI). By promoting trans inclusion, they benefit from this Tiered privilege within the AWEI. However, AWEI is an ACON initiative and, as stated above, is not based on any evidence or sound medical perspective.

My question to you, Minister of Education, is: when parents and students sue teachers and schools for pushing them into harmful and irreversible decisions instead of safeguarding them, will schools protect teachers? Will the AEU support teachers? What will happen if unions and schools face bankruptcy due to lawsuits from those who experience horror, pain, and suffering from misguided transitions? Who will help the teachers who felt they had no choice but to affirm gender to keep their jobs?

Teachers have been placed in the middle of the gender wars and need concerted efforts to keep the next generation safe by not bowing to ACON and its incentives. Teachers do not want to lose their jobs over this issue or assist children down a dangerous and irreversible path that has dire consequences.

You, Minister, are in a position to stop this assault on children. Please help concerned teachers and parents by recommending that schools do not affirm gender and by removing trans material from the HPE and 'respectful relationships' syllabus!

We can do better for the next generation.

Sincerly

Mel Day
